We don´t need to make more rounds about this... we need an english manual for this excellent machine.
I have some japanese friends , i will work on this to get this translated. My plan is:
a) Manual translated. b) Manual and cards translated. c) Manual and cards scanned and modified to english so everybody can print and play in english.
It will take time, i know but i want to work on this. If somebody got a japanese friend or japanese knowledge or want to help let me know. Is not so complicated if we find more people.
I see another guy already make the scans. I stand with a graphic designer on my company who can make the english version of these scans .
I will update you here on each step . I hope i can get at least the manual translated soon..
Anyway i insist: i am pretty sure there was a full website dedicated to the DBZ barcode battle game only. I can´t find it now... a site similar to this but with the DBZ only. I didn´t bookmark i forget.. anybody know this site ? Or was just my imagination? I can´t find it searching the web now!

This is excellent! I have started a website for this and the regular version of Super Barcode Wars: http://bandai.barcodebattler.co.uk/I have the scans for both versions somewhere. I'll see if I can find them for you. I've been looking for a reliable Kanji to English OCR program, but if you have access to one, then I'll leave it to you for now. (edit) I have found the scans for the regular version of Super Barcode Wars, but the DBZ version scans are probably on my computer at work. I'll have access to them tomorrow.

I am emailing today 2 japanese guys that speak english very well (not as me LOL) , i think if we can get the japanese in "text format" i can move on the translations.
After some research i see the best option is an OCR software called KANJI will try with some of your scans.Once i got pure text i will request a budget from the Japanese guys
Is not so much to translate, so it will be not expensive at all i think.

The scans will be available from here a few minutes after I finish typing this post: http://bandai.barcodebattler.co.uk/SBWDBZ.zipIf you can convert the scans into Kanji text, I may be able to find some free Kanji to English translation software. From there, I can correct the grammar errors. Although, somebody with experience of reading Kanji will always be more accurate than any OCR program.

CombatKing0 great, downloading now..., i think the best is to translate to english and to SPANISH. So if we can´t find sense to any phrase in english, i can perhaps find sense in spanish. Translating to 2 different languages is the best way to get the original meaning. You know i mean? So well, let´s move with the OCR, then translating.. and if this doesn´t work y will contract one guy to do the work . But i think definitely to have this manual and this board game in english worth any effort, don´t you? Regards Scaramouche

I agree.
The Japanese language has a structure which is very different to both Spanish and English, so attempting to translate into both languages should reveal meaning which may not be covered by a single translation.
Please let me know then the OCR conversion to Kanji is complete.

Man.. no way to convert because the KANJY OCR program only allow conversion from 2 tones images, non from color or gray scale ones. I am sending the scans to a guy from Argentina (near here) who knows Japanes lets see what he can do.. but can you make a 2 tones scan? (like a fax) I tried to convert from the color scans but it is impossible . Do you see any option to scan it like a fax, only black and white, 2 bits?

A team is working on the full translation of images from the images itself. Take a look on the first draft (page 1) I will pay some money to that guys, and i am sure if we can donate something these guys can get all; cards, manual and board translated to english in about 2 weeks! What you think?

It's a good first draft, but some of the words are a little confusing to read at first glance. I can make the corrections.
Do you have the Kanji OCR output?
Is £5 good for a start?

In fact i can´t use the OCR because as i mentioned is not possible to make an OCR from you scans. We need 2 bits (2 colors ) scans. But i have a guy typing from the document and translating to enlglish.. problem is the guy japanese is good, but english skill not good . For me is better to just ask him translate to spanish but i want this translated to english as long i full understand english will be better for everybody: is a more universal language. Your help improving the english will be appreciated, yes, correcting this. Any donation will be appreciated not for me, for this guy. I will pay some money and if we can get more people involved perhaps we can have even the board and the cards translated. I will publish his paypal email soon, so everybody who want to contribute can do it . In about 1 week we will have the full manual (no cards no board) translated. Then you can correct it and check the english. I think these are very good news.

This is excellent work.
I will tidy up the translation into English. It is almost there.
I'll publish a link to the PayPal account submission for new donors on the News page and the Bandai sub-domain.

The guy is Najadentaku (he lives in Argentina) and his paypal is: madingrain@hotmail.comAny donation will help this guy as long he has no job I will send 50 USD for the manual, if we collect some extra i think he can do the cards and the board. Once you review it.. i have better plans. One of my clients is a PRINTER here. And to print it here is very cheap, so we can produce it the cards and the manual in English!! What you think? Then we can sell it for a symbolic price to support this site and projects like this. Makes sense?

I'll be certain to update the News page and the Bandai site with Najadentaku's PayPal details.
Initially, I considered the demand for the translated manual would be very low, but then I remembered that it is for the DBZ version, so there would be a lot more interest, mainly from collectors.
To avoid legal action from copyright holders, it may be useful to create a new manual from scratch, using original images and diagrams, and using the translation as a starting point.
If there is interest from buyers, we could sell manuals for this, and then move on to translating other manuals and cards with the help of Najadentaku. It may be useful to negotiate a share of the profits for you, for him, and for this site.
